What You Can Do With This Domain Rating Checker

Use a consistent authority metric to establish a baseline, monitor link-building progress, and compare backlink profiles.

Check Current DR

Enter a domain or full website URL and retrieve its current Ahrefs Domain Rating on the 0–100 scale.

Track Backlink Progress

Use periodic checks as a directional benchmark while Ahrefs discovers new referring domains and backlinks.

Compare Websites Consistently

Compare sites using the same Ahrefs metric instead of mixing DR with unrelated authority scores from other providers.

How the Free Domain Rating Checker Works

Enter a domain such as example.com or paste a full website URL. The checker removes the protocol, path, and common www prefix, validates the public domain, and requests its current score from the official Ahrefs Domain Rating API.

The result is the website’s current Ahrefs Domain Rating, not an estimate created by SubmitSaaS. Repeated checks may use a result cached for up to one hour. This keeps the checker responsive while avoiding duplicate requests for the same domain.

Use the score as a directional SEO benchmark. DR compares backlink profile strength across the Ahrefs database; it does not measure content quality, conversions, technical SEO, or every factor that affects search visibility.

How to Interpret a Domain Rating Score

DR runs from 0 to 100 on a logarithmic scale. That means the distance between higher scores is progressively harder to close. Moving a new website from DR 0 to DR 10 is not equivalent to moving an established website from DR 70 to DR 80.

A useful interpretation always depends on context. Compare your website with direct competitors in the same niche, then track your own score over time. A lower-DR specialist site can still outrank a higher-DR competitor with better content, stronger topical relevance, and more useful pages.

Domain Rating is not a Google metric and is not a direct ranking factor. It is best used as one backlink benchmark alongside referring domains, link relevance, organic traffic, rankings, and conversions.
